Midweek ‘disturbance’ may bring gustier winds to Central California Amid Cooler Temperatures

Strong winds are hitting Central California, with gusts up to 64 mph reported along the Mojave Desert Slopes near Rosamond. The National Weather Service in Hanford has issued a High Wind Warning in effect until 10 AM today, with an 80% chance of gusts reaching 60 mph early this morning.

Breezy conditions are also expected across the San Joaquin Valley throughout Sunday. Wind gusts of 25 mph or higher are likely, particularly in western Merced County, where gusts could climb to 35 mph in some areas.

Temperatures are cooling down, with a 50-100% chance of high temperatures staying at or below 70 degrees today and a 40-80% chance on Monday. However, a warm-up is anticipated starting Tuesday, with highs likely reaching over 70 degrees through the end of the week.
