CARMEL, Ind. — Law enforcement in Carmel arrested a man after a police chase on Sunday.
According to a post on the Carmel Police Department’s Facebook page , 31-year-old Raheem Murray of Indianapolis led police on a chase before he ultimately crashed the car he was driving. Law enforcement reported that officers terminated their pursuit of Murray before he crashed because he began driving southbound in Keystone Parkway’s northbound lanes.
CPD confirmed Murray crashed into another car. The driver of that car was treated at a local hospital and later released.
Police reported that Murray attempted to leave the scene of the crash on foot before they ultimately apprehended him. Murray was checked out by medics and then transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
According to the Hamilton County Jail logs, Murray was booked on the following charges:
- Driving while suspended — Class A Misdemeanor
- Unlawful carrying of a handgun — Level 5 Felony
- Possession of marijuana with a prior drug conviction — Level 6 Felony
- Dealing in marijuana — Level 5 Felony
- Reckless driving causing bodily injury — Class A Misdemeanor
- Resisting law enforcement — Class A Misdemeanor
- Leaving the scene of an accident causing bodily injury — Class A Misdemeanor
- Resisting Law Enforcement with a vehicle — Level 5 Felony
