Uplifting experience
My experience voting at the Lee County Election Center in Fort Myers this morning was genuinely uplifting. The people serving there were patient, steady, friendly, and efficient, making everyone feel welcome. It felt like the best of America and made me even more grateful for our privilege to vote.
I’m sure we didn’t all vote the same way, but the folks there made us feel for a moment, again, like we are neighbors. No matter what the election outcome, I know some will be disappointed and even angry. I am inspired to follow the example of the election workers I met this morning, with the hope that my own steady and optimistic demeanor can impact the people around me the way theirs did this morning.
