FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Sheila Keen-Warren, infamously known as Florida’s “Killer Clown,” has been freed from prison for the murder of Marlene Warren in 1990. At 61 years old, she was released on Saturday, November 2, 2024, as part of a plea agreement that led to a 12-year sentence for second-degree murder. On May 26, 1990, Marlene Warren, 40, was fatally shot by a person dressed as a clown at her Wellington home. The killer, later identified as Sheila Keen-Warren, approached the house dressed in a clown costume, carrying balloons and flowers. Marlene Warren, who was having breakfast with her 22-year-old son, Joseph Ahrens, and several of his friends, was handed the items and commented, “How nice,” before the clown pulled out a gun and shot her in the face.
