A dozen California counties, including in the Bay Area and Northern California, are listed under a Pacific Gas and Electric public safety power shutoff watch on election day.

Although the website does not say how many customers may be affected by the potential shutoffs, customers in the following counties may be impacted:

  • Alameda
  • Butte
  • Contra Costa
  • Lake
  • Napa
  • Plumas
  • Santa Clara
  • Santa Cruz
  • Solano
  • Sonoma
  • Stanislaus
  • Yolo

PG&E’s website says those counties are under a watch due to high winds and dry conditions. The utility says shutoffs are likely to impact some customers in parts of each county.

Customers in those same counties, along with Glenn, Kern, Mendocino, Stanislaus and Tehama, may also have their power shut off on Wednesday and Thursday due to the potential for high fire danger.

It’s not clear at this moment if the potential power safety shutoff will impact any voting centers in each county.

CBS News Bay Area has reached out to PG&E to learn more about the potential outages.
