Monday’s Five Facts
[1] Are rideshare companies overcharging New Mexico customers? – Two state agencies are teaming up to find out whether or not rideshare companies are overcharging customers. The Santa Fe Police Department and the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s Regulation Bureau say one customer reported being charged over $100 from the Santa Fe Airport to downtown, a 14-mile drive. NMDOT says passengers must be able to see what the ride will cost and proper certification numbers deed to be permanently attached to the cars.
[2] CABQ sustainable energy rebate – The city of Albuquerque is getting nearly $200,000 from PNM for its use of clean energy in city transit. Officials say that money is going right back into sustainable energy efforts. The city has accepted a $192,000 rebate from PNM through the Transportation Electrification Program that incentivizes the expansion of EV infrastructure. The city says those rebate checks are being reinvested into renewable energy projects in the city.
