The Green Bay Packers will go into their bye week with a sour taste after the loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, but not everything is over. And the offense has help on the way.
After missing the last four games with an ankle injury that landed him on the injured reserve , second-year tight end Luke Musgrave is eligible to return from IR. He didn’t play against the Los Angeles Rams either because of the injury, but was active so it didn’t count towards his IR stint.
The Packers can open Musgrave’s 21-day practice window whenever they want starting on Monday, and the tight end might be activated to the Chicago Bears game in week 11, right after the bye .
Tough season
Even though Luke Musgrave had a prolific rookie season after being a second-round pick in 2023, this season has been rough for the tight end. He’s had only five catches for 22 yards in four games, and has been dramatically outsnapped by Tucker Kraft .
Kraft will obviously be the starter moving forward because he’s been one of the most productive tight ends in football and one of the most reliable pieces of the Packers offense.
