Michael Greenberg had heard stories about a piece of Minneapolis’ Jewish history that many weren’t real interested in talking about – and certainly less interested in seeing on the big screen. But that didn’t stop Greenberg from writing, directing, and producing ‘The Combination’, a short film that looks one particular aspect of the life of Isadore “Kid Cann” Blumenfeld, the head of the Jewish mob in the 1920s. We talk about taking a deep-dive into some of the less-savory parts of Minneapolis Jewish history, what drew him to filmmaking, and the Twin Cities as a place where great movies can be made, on this week’s Who The Folk?! Podcast. Also check to see if tickets are available for the premiere screening at the Trylon Cinema.
