The U.S. Department of Justice will be monitoring some Kentucky polling locations on Election Day.
According to a press release, the DOJ will be monitoring sites “for compliance with federal voting rights laws” in 86 jurisdictions across 27 states, including two in the commonwealth.
The department stated it enforces laws “that protect the rights of all citizens to access the ballot” and “regularly deploys its staff to monitor for compliance … in communities all across the country.”
Here’s what we know.
