14-year-old Sirish Subash wins America’s Top Young Scientist award

He invented an AI handheld pesticide detector and won the grand prize of $25,000. 3M (@3M) and Discovery Education (@DiscoveryEd) recently named Sirish Subash, a 9th grader at Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology in Snellville, Georgia, the winner of the 2024 3M Young Scientist Challenge, the nation’s premier middle school science competition. The challenge inspires middle school students to think creatively and apply the power of STEM to discover real-world solutions.
