Report Card for Wisconsin’s 42-10 Loss to Iowa

Wisconsin football suffered an embarrassing loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes, falling 42-10 on the road and dropping to 5-4 on the season.

Going into this game, I thought this was going to be a good litmus test of where this team is at and where it has progressed under Luke Fickell. Unfortunately, Saturday was much of the same, and the Badgers continued to be who many thought they were.

Here are my grades for Wisconsin’s offense, defense, and special teams from the blowout loss to Iowa.

Wisconsin Football Offense Grade: F

This might be the flattest the Wisconsin offense has looked thus far in the Luke Fickell era, but it’s hard not to be flat when you just keep getting run over.

Braedyn Locke has a very real interception problem. He threw two on Saturday night, and with those interceptions, Locke has continued his streak of throwing an INT in every start this season. He also finished with 15 completions on 29 attempts for 137 yards and a touchdown, so about par for the course.

Wisconsin’s ground game was non-existent against a strong Hawkeyes defensive front. The Badgers were outgained 329-124 on the ground, as Tawee Walker barely cracked 50 rushing yards on 16 carries. Darrion Dupree averaged 7.4 yards per rush, but it was mostly in garbage time.
