Wilmington Voter Guide: Everything you need to know about times, locations and candidates

Before heading to the polls on Nov. 5, there are a few things voters should know to ensure a smooth process.

While many in the Wilmington area have already cast their votes through the early voting process, many are waiting until Election Day.

Here’s how to be prepared.

When do polls open and close?

Polling locations will open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. Those in line at 7:30 p.m. will still be able to cast their votes.

How do I find my polling place?

The State Board of Elections has a voter search website that will provide each voter with their precinct and polling place name and address.

Simply enter your first and last name, year of birth and county where you’re registered, and then the information should load if you’re registered.

Do not rely on your voting location from previous elections as some locations have changed this year. New Hanover and Brunswick counties have a list of locations that have changed this year, but the location on your registration is where you should go.
