SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — We are just days from the election, and each side of Amendment G is ensuring their voices are heard.
Opponents of Amendment G gathered at Riverside Park in Sioux Falls this morning. Taylor Van Emmerik, the state chair for South Dakota College Republicans, helped organize the rally.
“We’re doing a little door-knocking event right before the election. We want to make our voice heard in a last-ditch effort to get some of our great state representatives, our state senators. We have ‘No on G’ stuff out here, we have some ‘No on H.’ Just wanted to get out there and educate voters before they make their decision on Tuesday,” Van Emmerik said.
U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson attended the rally.
“When I look at something like Amendment G, it is too extreme. I’m not saying our current laws around abortion are perfect. I would tell you, though, Amendment G wipes away all of the protections we have for women and all of the protections we have for children. We can do better than Amendment G,” Dusty Johnson said.
