Tomorrow, Americans who haven’t already done so will cast ballots in what has been a highly contentious presidential election, one that seems to reinforce we are a nation starkly divided and stuck in partisan gridlock. Nearly 3 in 4 Americans say that the U.S. is no longer a good example of a democracy, according to the Pew Research Center, while a whopping 85% of people across all demographic groups say they don’t believe elected officials care what people like them think.
