GREENVILLE S.C. (WSPA) – The Blind Horse Saloon is having a liquidation auction Saturday, November 9 after its closing was announced in May due to South Carolina’s liquor insurance requirements.
According to Terry Hester Auction Services, around 2,000 pieces are to be sold at the live auction. These items range from neon signs to mounts, bars and equipment, rare porcelain signs, autographed pictures of music stars and even the dance floor.
Hester laughed when he said, “If you see something you like, just keep your card up and you’ll buy it if you keep it up long enough.”
He said from the thousands of people who have walked through the front door over the past 30 years of business, he hopes some can take home a memory. Hester said he spoke with a young woman whose parents met at the Blind Horse Saloon.
“Hopefully that’s what we’re going to have,” said Hester. “Just a lot of nostalgic people and a lot of people who are just coming to buy some memories.”
Hester said there are many pieces people have already called about, including a rare porcelain sign.
