The Kansas City Chiefs had a scary moment to begin the fourth quarter on “Monday Night Football” when superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes was helped off the field after suffering a non-contact ankle injury.
After spending some time in the blue medical tent, Mahomes returned to the field for the Chiefs’ next drive following a three-and-out from the Buccaneers.
On the play of Mahomes’ injury, he found running back Samaje Perine for a seven-yard touchdown to tie the game, 17-17. Mahomes is having one of his best performances of the season, with 193 passing yards and two touchdowns.
While Mahomes did return, it’s unclear if the injury will impact his abilities throughout the rest of the game and in the future.
After a slow start. running back Kareem Hunt now has 63 rushing yards on 14 attempts. All-Pro weapons Travis Kelce and DeAndre Hopkins have combined for 130 receiving yards.
