CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Stewart County man, who has reportedly spent the majority of his life behind bars, has been arrested once again after he is accused of kicking a deputy in the chest.
The Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office said the incident unfolded outside the Dollar General store on Old Clarksville Pike and Bearwallow Road on Sunday, Nov. 3.
Deputies reported they found Kenneth Wayne Nelson, 26, of Stewart County, sitting on a bicycle and holding a dog leash outside the store.
Bodycam video provided by the sheriff’s office captures the moment a deputy approached the 26-year-old.
According to an arrest report, Nelson initially provided the deputy with a fake name and date of birth.
“Keep your hands where I can see them. You have nothing that identifies who you are?” the deputy could be heard asking Nelson on bodycam video.
“No sir,” replied Nelson.
While investigating Nelson’s identify, the deputy pulled jail and prison intake photos, which led him to positively identify Nelson as the suspect due to specific hand tattoos.
