Stormy Skies Ahead: Arizona Braces for Showers, Heavy Drenching Downpours and Wind

A slow-moving weather system is set to bring a mix of showers and thunderstorms to south-central Arizona today, with conditions expected to remain breezy to windy across the western deserts.

According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, afternoon highs will hover in the upper 60s to mid-70s, thanks to cooler than normal temperatures.

Thunderstorm activity is likely to develop over higher terrain areas around Phoenix, potentially leading to brief heavy downpours and even small hail.

Additionally, gusty winds will sweep through the region, with peak gusts reaching 30 mph today and escalating to 35-45 mph by Monday morning. A Wind Advisory has been issued until 1 PM PST on Monday, so residents are advised to stay alert as this active weather pattern unfolds.
