Motorcyclist In Virginia Dies After Being Hospitalized In ‘Non-Life-Threatening Condition:’ PD

Police have identified the 72-year-old Honda motorcyclist who died at the hospital after crashing into a Honda Civic last week in Fairfax County.

Springfield resident Mohammad Rastegar died on Wednesday, Oct. 30 from injuries sustained after crashing late in the afternoon when another driver was making a turn in the area.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, Rastegar was riding east on Old Keane Mill Road on his motorcycle when the driver of a Civic was hading north on Field Master Road and attempted to make a turn onto the roadway, striking the motorcyclist.

Rastegar was taken to the hospital for evaluation of what were initially described as non-life-threatening injuries.

He died later that night.

The crash remains under investigation, though detectives say that preliminarily, speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors.
