Richmond to San Francisco Ferry Service Free on Fridays Through 2024

Starting November 1, all ferry trips between Richmond and Downtown San Francisco will be free every Friday until the end of the year, thanks to a collaboration between San Francisco Bay Ferry and the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA). The “Richmond Free Ferry Friday” promotion aims to make ferry transit more accessible and increase ridership.

San Francisco Bay Ferry offers 26 weekday trips between Richmond and the Ferry Building in Downtown San Francisco, with each 35-minute ride providing passengers with stunning views of the Bay. The regular fare is $4.70 per trip, or $2.30 for youth, senior, and disabled passengers, while children under five always travel for free. No reservations are needed for this promotion, making it easy for both commuters and day-trippers to take advantage of the offer.
