Why is there fencing around the Denver City and County Building ahead of Election Day?

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Voters who plan on dropping their ballot off or voting in person near the Denver City and County Building may notice some fencing around the park, but the temporary infrastructure isn’t for Election Day, it’s for the holiday season.

On Monday, the Denver Elections Division explained the reasoning behind the temporary addition.

The division confirmed the fencing is not related to the general election or Election Day.

“The fencing is the city preparing for the Cristkindl market. Tis the season for jingle bells and elections!” said the elections division on X.
