A resident of Hialeah, Fla. is celebrating after winning a $1 million prize in a lottery scratch-off game, as announced by Lottery officials on Friday. Miguel Villavicencio, 59, claimed his prize this week from the “$1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular” game.
Villavicencio opted for a one-time lump-sum payment, taking home $685,000 after taxes. He purchased the winning scratch-off ticket at Las Cuatro Hermanas Supermarket, located at 810 E. 41st St. in Hialeah. As a bonus for selling the ticket, the store will receive a $2,000 commission.
The Florida Lottery highlighted that the “$5 Gold Rush Doubler Scratch-Off” game features over $188 million in cash prizes, including 28 top prizes of $1 million, with overall odds of winning set at 1 in 3.98.
