Mae is the quintessential Southern Belle — very demure, very mindful.
Her life hasn’t always been easy, though. She was living at Top of the World with five other Pit Bull friends in a situation that wasn’t the best for proper young ladies.
Luckily, she was surrendered to Blount County Animal Center, where she’s learned that she deserves to be treated like the little lady she is.
“I have always depended on the kindness of strangers,” Mae said while batting her eyes. This 2-year-old darlin’ is ready for someone to lounge and sip sweet tea with while they fan themselves and say, “My goodness, this heat!”
While she likes to play, Mae is a pretty low-maintenance honeybun who is an expert at the art of relaxation. In fact, if you throw a toy for her, she may decide she’d rather sunbathe than chase it.
“I don’t want to think about the toy now, I’ll think about it tomorrow,” Mae sighed.
At the center, she has been known to dance the Two-Step with Daily Times star and cyborg-hunter Hank, but if Hank gets too fresh, Mae uses that southern sass to put him in his place.
