Police: Juvenile reported missing found hiding in dryer with gun in Greenville

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Officers said a juvenile who was reported missing was discovered hiding in the dryer with a gun at a gathering with other teens Sunday at a Greenville apartment.

An investigation was initiated when the Greenville Police Department responded to a report of multiple juveniles with weapons at the Gallery at West Greenville Apartment Homes on Traction Street. Upon arrival, police said the teens fled into an apartment.

Officers contacted the owner of the apartment and discovered 11 juveniles from ages 15-17 inside. A search warrant was obtained, police said.

During the search, officers discovered one of the juveniles at the gathering was reported missing after locating the individual in the dryer in possession of a handgun and marijuana.

Police also found firearms and ammunition in the residence.

Officers did not reveal the identity of any of the juveniles at the incident or if the individuals will face any charges.

The case remains under investigation by the Greenville PD.
