Preservation specialists available at three Disaster Recovery Centers

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Preservation specialists will be available for Floridians at Disaster Recovery Centers to offer advice about salvaging damaged items, FEMA announced.

The specialists will be able to give advice to residents impacted by Hurricane Helene and Milton on photos, artwork, textiles, and other treasured items.

From Sun. Nov. 3 through Thursday, Nov. 7, specialists from the Save Your Family Treasures Program will be at the following locations:

  • Enoch Davis Cente: 1111 18th Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sarasota Municipal Auditorium: 801 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Orange County Multi-Cultural Center: 7149 West Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

According to FEMA, the Smithsonian Institution and FEMA co-sponsor the Heritage Emergency National Task Force, which is a partnership of more than 60 national services and federal agencies that were created to protect cultural heritage from the damaging effects of natural disasters and other emergencies.
