Tracking Rafael as it heads toward Gulf of Mexico

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – It will be another warm, humid and gusty day across Tampa Bay. Highs reach the mid 80s, which is above average for early November.

If you’re heading to the ballot box today, expect a few passing showers. Rain chances increase through the afternoon and into the evening. Passing showers continue overnight, and more downpours are expected off and on through the day tomorrow as Rafael enters the Gulf of Mexico.

Some outer rain bands bring gusty showers Wednesday and Thursday. The system stays far enough off our coast that significant impacts aren’t expected. Rainfall totals will be 1-2 inches, and it stays gusty and humid.

Once Rafael drifts west on Friday, drier air arrives, and rain chances drop off significantly. Just a 20% chance Friday, and they go down to 10% Saturday.

While humidity may drop a bit, it stays warm through the weekend and into next week.
