Scene now clear after more than a dozen fire trucks respond to fire near Anchorage jail

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – More than a dozen fire trucks responded to a fire in the area of 1400 E. 4th Avenue, close to the Anchorage Correctional Complex. A fire dispatcher confirmed with Alaska’s News Source, the fire was not at the jail, but 13 units responded. Firefighters were dispatched shortly after 12:30 a.m. to the scene. An Enstar Natural Gas Company van was also there as a precaution. There were several ambulances on standby, but no word on any injuries. According to a fire dispatcher at 4:44 a.m. the scene was clear.
