Chattanooga, TN – According to the police officials, their dedication and sacrifice continue to resonate within the community.

  • Sergeant Joseph Brian Montijo (Badge 1059): A dedicated police veteran with 20 years of service, Sgt. Montijo tragically passed away on November 1, 2019, due to complications from heat exhaustion while processing a crime scene.
  • End of Watch: Friday, November 1, 2019
  • Patrolman Jesse G. Shirley (Badge 381): With six years of service, Patrolman Shirley was fatally shot while responding to a disturbance call.
  • End of Watch: Sunday, November 8, 1931
  • Patrolman James H. Cornett (Badge Unknown): After six years with CPD, Patrolman Cornett lost his life while attempting to break up a fight on a city street.
  • End of Watch: Wednesday, November 4, 1931
