The Montgomery County Election Commission has reported that about 33% of it’s registered voter cast their votes during early voting.
Montgomery County has reported that 50,393 voters this year for early voting, barely exceeding the 2020 number of 50,360.
The in-person early voting count for the 2024 Presidential election is 488,065, beating the in-person tally of 44,258 in 2020.
On the first day of early voting, Joslin Montgomery County Administrator of Elections said that the county mailed approximately 2,700 absentee ballots and received about 1000 back, which she said is “normal for a Presidential election.”
Additionally, the county registered 8,154 people between the August election and Oct. 7 deadline for this election.
Montgomery County 2024 Elections
This election’s early voting turnout exceeds the total votes of both the March primaries and the August State Primary and County General.
“There’s always a larger turn out for Presidential election,” Joslin said.
In March, parties decided on a party frontrunner for School Board Districts 2, 4 and 6, Assessor of Property. Montgomery County had an 8.89% turnout , with 12,582 out of the 141,455 registered voters.
