KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say one person was killed and another was injured in a shooting in Kalamazoo.
The shooting happened near the area of Egelston Avenue and Reed Court in the Edison neighborhood, according to a post by the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety at 10:55 p.m. Monday.
When authorities arrived, police said they found one victim inside a vehicle and another nearby. A 34-year-old man was dead at the scene. A 40-year-old man had a gunshot wound that is not considered life-threatening.
Investigators believe the victims were with a male suspect at another location earlier in the evening and then went to the Egleston neighborhood, where the suspect shot the driver and then at the other victim.
It’s unknown if any arrests have been made and police did not release a suspect description.
