Good morning and happy Election Day! It’s going to another windy day so hang in there and don’t get blown away.
We’re looking at similar daytime highs from yesterday — upper 60s to low 70s for the beaches, mid 70s for the inland coast. Temperatures for the valleys won’t go any higher than 80 degrees so you can take some comfort in that. Meanwhile, high desert temperatures will reach the mid 70s, and up to 83 degrees in the low desert.
Tonight will be chilly so if you’re standing in line at the polls, bring a jacket — we’re looking at low 60s, then down to the mid 50s overnight.
Windy week ahead
Today’s windy conditions won’t be as strong as what’s in the forecast for the rest of week. A wind advisory is in effect today for the Antelope Valley and Interstate 5 corridor starting at noon until midnight.
But with stronger winds expected for tomorrow, forecasters have issued a red flag warning for most of the Southland — Ventura, L.A., Orange counties and the Inland Empire valleys and mountains. The red flag warning goes into effect 4 a.m. Wednesday until 6 p.m. Thursday night. That means there’s a greater risk of fire weather and a possibility of power safety shutoffs .
