Election Day is here.
We’ve spent the past few weeks covering some of the region’s biggest races, but today we cover it all — Election results from president to Congress, statewide and local races — contested and uncontested — will be available at rrstar.com as soon as results start pouring in.
In Winnebago County, voters will have their say on whether a sales tax for mental health gets renewed. They along with voters across northwestern and central Illinois will choose between Democrat Eric Sorensen and Republican Joe McGraw to serve in the House of Representatives. Rockford area voters will select the next judge for the 17th Circuit Court and more.
We’ll be checking in with voters and polling places during the day and bringing you the latest in election results this evening. We’ll update this space throughout the day and night.

Many of Rockford’s earliest voters had to be checked in manually using paper log books Tuesday morning after system the city’s uses to store voter registration rolls electronically went down for about two hours.
