Take an airplane ride at ‘Wings N Wheels’ at Minter Field Air Museum Saturday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Kern County has been home to many first and historic flights. Minter Field Air Museum is welcoming the community to help keep Kern’s aviation history alive with the ‘Wings N Wheels’ fundraiser this weekend.

The event is the air museum’s biggest fundraising event, since it thrives off of community-based donations, according to event organizer Ronald Pierce.

One of the highlights of the event includes airplane and helicopter rides, as well as, skydivers.

Wings N Wheels will also feature a 20-piece Big Band playing 40s music you can dance to, historic aircrafts, hundreds of show cars, food and drinks. Participants can also tour the museum for free.

This is an all day event. Doors open at 9 a.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults. Veterans, first responders and seniors get in for $5, and kids 12 and under get in for free. Minter Field is located at 401 Vultee Street, in Shafter.
