Cold Front Approaching: Winter Weather, Heavy Snow Across the West, California, Colorado

A strong upper-level trough is set to sweep through the West, ushering in a cold front that will impact the Rockies and Southwest.

As the front moves, winter weather advisories, storm warnings, and wind advisories have been issued from Montana to New Mexico.

Snow is expected in the mountains, with significant accumulation predicted in the Four Corners region by Thursday morning. Arctic air will lead to plummeting temperatures, dropping into the 30s and 40s in valleys and reaching single digits in some areas overnight.

Additionally, strong winds and low moisture levels will elevate wildfire risks in parts of California, prompting red flag warnings and critical fire conditions in southern regions, particularly around Santa Clarita.

Residents are advised to prepare for cold weather and heightened fire danger.
