CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The Charleston Police Department is asking for the public to help identify two people accused of abandoning a dog on the West Ashley Greenway. Police say animal control officers responded at approximately 2 p.m. on Oct. 8 to a report of a dog in distress on the Greenway. They arrived to find a black and tan Rottweiler tethered to a tree with no food or water. The dog had several wounds to his face, neck, ears and legs, police say.
