Republican NC Speaker Tim Moore goes to Congress with NC 14th win

RALEIGH – North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore (R-Eden) has won the race for North Carolina’s 14th Congressional District over Democrat Pamela Genant. The seat is currently held by freshman Democrat Rep. Jeff Jackson, who is in the race against fellow Republican Congressman Dan Bishop to become North Carolina’s next attorney general. Following rumors he was jumping into the attorney general race, Jackson announced he would not seek reelection to the seat following redistricting changes that made the seat favorable to Republicans.
