Voter turnout was heavy on a presidential election day in northeastern Wisconsin.
Voters cast ballots for president but also in the U.S. Senate, U.S. House, state Senate and state Assembly races, as well as a number of referendums.
The Press-Gazette sent seven reporters out to observe the day’s voting. Here is what they saw before the polls closed at 8 p.m. The dispatches are in chronological order from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Very few residents still voting in Ashwaubenon
Ashwaubenon polling locations are seeing the last couple voters trickle in, with the Emphasis on “trickle” in at least one location, where fewer than 15 voters came in to vote from 6:30-7:30 p.m., chief election inspector Tim Mattson said.
Part of that may be due to early voting. Over 6,000 residents voted before Election Day, according to village clerk Kris Teske.
