On Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Oak Ridge Lions Club will be collecting food at Brysonn’s Closet to benefit the thrift store’s food pantry.
“Please come and drop off foods to help the Lions second Saturday food drive,” said Bill Truex, Oak Ridge Lions Club president. “Our goal is to add some special foods to the Thanksgiving meals of needy families in our area.”
All foods are appreciated, but for the month of November a few other items are requested. These are turkey gravy, stuffing, boxed pie crust, pie fillings, cranberry sauce, yams, canned hams, canned soup, and canned chili.
Brysonn’s Closet is offering a 5% discount coupon to anyone who drops off at least $5 worth of food this month.
This second Saturday food drive will be at Brysonn’s Closet at 350 N. Illinois Avenue, Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
