Seth Magaziner wins 2nd term in US House

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Democratic incumbent Seth Magaziner has won the race for Rhode Island’s 2nd Congressional District seat, 12 News projects.

Magaziner defeated Republican Steven Corvi.

Magaziner, 41, was first elected in 2022 when he won a close contest to succeed 11-term Democrat Jim Langevin. His legislative priorities to date have included mandatory paid time off, though he has faced criticism for failing to move into his district .

Corvi, an adjunct professor and political newcomer, had a low profile throughout the campaign after raising little money and receiving no significant support from national Republicans.
