OKLAHOMA CITY ( KFOR ) — Cleanup is underway while Oklahoma County assesses tornado damage in the metro area.
Rick Massey said he’s grateful to be alive after a tornado tore through his neighborhood near Southeast 89th Street and Sooner Road.
“A little overwhelmed. I’ve had experience with tornadoes before, but this is the first one is up close and personal,” said Massey.
Massey said it felt like a shotgun or cannon went through the front window of his home.

“I heard this huge bang, I think it was all the things against the garage door and then I heard glass and I ducked under the table. Otherwise, I don’t know if I’d be here talking about it,” said Massey. “My wife was crying out. She was stuck in the bedroom and the wind had blown the window in and pushed the door forward passed the lock, so the door wouldn’t open.”
Massey said he and his wife have been spared several times in the past when larger tornadoes hit the area.
