Montgomery County Commissioner Isaiah Sankey wins re-election

District 4 Montgomery County Commissioner Isaiah Sankey has won a third term in his position, defeating challenger Irva Reed, according to incomplete, unofficial results.

With 12 of 16 boxes counties, Sankey had won 8,380 in the county district while Reed won 1,265. The district includes about about 44,000 people.

“They can call me, and they know that I’m concerned about those basic issues that concern to quality of life,” Sankey said.

He said he is concerned about the issues that impact people such as poor treatment while in jail, sewage issues and job creation. “They understand what I’m up against, and they respect me and appreciate me,” Sankey said about his constituents.

“… What I’m really happy about is, if you stay the course long enough, you get results.”

He also hopes to get sewer lines to Madison Park homes soon. County officials have met with the city and waterworks board and hired engineers for the project.
