A female student gruesomely shot herself with her own gun while riding the school bus in Florida Tuesday morning.
Reports say the girl, 13, fired a round into herself while the school bus was near the intersection of 49th Street North and 18th Avenue North, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department . Authorities received the disturbing call at 9:22 a.m. The teen was among 20 other children when she shot herself but no other individuals were injured.
The unidentified victim was transported to John Hopkins All Children Hospital, according to police who added that she was in stable condition. It’s unclear where the 13-year-old shot herself.

The girl reportedly brought the firearm onto the bus with her this morning. An investigation is ongoing to determine whether the victim intended to shoot herself and where she got the gun, police said. The bus was headed to Tyrone Middle School.
