City of Erie Mayor Joe Schember accompanies voters to the polls

City of Erie Mayor Joe Schember could be seen on Tuesday lending a helping hand, accompanying voters to perform their civic duty.

Mayor Schember was taking residents from different living facilities to their polling locations.

Voters making their voices heard as Election Day arrives

The trolley stopped at five places providing a means of transportation for those otherwise unable to access polls.

Schember said they had more people show up than those who had registered.

Campaign volunteers make final case for candidates before Election Day

“A lot of the people we are picking up don’t own a car or a vehicle to get around and they’ll walk downtown because they live right downtown,” said Mayor Schember. “I give them each one of my pens as they get back into the car after they vote and they really seem to enjoy it and so do I.”

The rides wrapped up around 1:00 p.m.
