Gunman charged with murder after man fatally shot in head inside Brooklyn subway station

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police on Tuesday made an arrest in the shooting death of a 47-year-old man inside a Brooklyn subway station last month.

Donald Haywood, 57, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, officials said.

At approximately 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, officers responded to a 911 call of a man shot inside of the Rockaway Avenue train station in Ocean Hill.

Upon arrival, officers observed Freddie Weston with a gunshot wound to the head.

EMS Rushed Weston to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
