Rain chances ramp up into the mid-week

It was another record setting day across Central and Eastern Kentucky as folks enjoyed summer-like conditions on Election Day. With sunshine and a strong south wind gusting over 30 miles per hour at times, afternoon highs ran back into the upper 70s to around 80 degrees for much of the area. We reached record temperatures for the 3rd straight day here in Lexington as our afternoon high reached 80 degrees, besting the old record of 81 set back in 1977. Hopefully you’ve enjoyed the dry and unseasonably warm weather as we have some changes heading into the mid to late week.
