People from Oro Valley and across Arizona will gather at Naranja Park on Saturday, Nov. 16, to dedicate The Arizona Heroes Memorial, a project nearly nine years in the making. A ribbon-cutting and grand opening event is set to begin at 11 a.m. that Saturday at 810 W. Naranja Drive, near the southern entrance to Naranja Park. Organizers expect a large crowd, with elected and appointed leaders joining the public to hear remarks by Dr. Richard Carmona, the memorial’s honorary chair and America’s 17th Surgeon General, and Oro Valley Mayor Joe Winfield.
