A notable overnight snowstorm hit Colorado as expected, and it’s been wreaking havoc on morning commutes around the Front Range.
The most problematic snow landed along the I-25 corridor between Denver and Colorado Springs, as well as the portion of I-70 that stretches east of Denver, where about eight inches of snow is reported to have fallen according to the National Weather Service.
While I-25 remains open at time of publishing with some sections of road posing winter travel hazards, various closures exist on more than 100 miles of I-70 east of Denver.
Traffic cameras show a good amount of snow on this stretch of road. Colorado Highway 59 is also closed for a stretch south of I-70 in this area, as well, from Seibert to Kit Carson.
This closures are likely to shift and fluctuate throughout the day. If you’re planning on a long trip around Colorado, make sure you check the CDOT map for updates before hitting the road. Slick spots are also likely to persist around metro areas that got significant snowfall, as well.
