Thrillist notes that Turnbull Canyon is steeped in tales of paranormal activity, including stories of spirits linked to a nearby orphanage and a mysterious, burnt-down asylum. Adding to the mystique, local legends describe sightings of UFOs and rumors of cult activity. The area was known by Native Americans as “Hutukngna,” or “the place of the Devil,” underscoring its longstanding association with the supernatural.
