SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A Carmel Valley resident has been arrested by San Diego Police on suspicion of a series of indecent exposures targeting young girls in the area, authorities said Wednesday.
According to SDPD, 27-year-old Rene Cruz of Carmel Valley was arrested Monday for multiple indecent exposure incidents involving 17 victims over a 10-year period.

Police said Cruz targeted victims by pulling alongside them in his car and exposing himself through his open car door as they walked home from school. They said he would generally be sitting the passenger seat of a white Toyota sedan or silver Buick SUV.
Students at Torrey Pines High School, Carmel Valley Middle School and Solana Pacific Elementary School were the targeted victims in these incidents, according to police.
The case is currently being prosecuted by the City Attorney’s office. Cruz appeared in court Wednesday morning at 8 a.m.
