Election 2024: Republicans win statewide elections

South Dakota citizens widely chose Republican candidates for statewide and legislative offices in the Nov. 5, 2024, general election. Minnehaha County, the most populous county in the state, took until 5 p.m. on Nov. 6 to report all its results, long after some much larger swing states, like Florida, counted all their votes. All other counties had results in by early on Nov. 6.
